I have a mate looking for work as a welder, is it ok if I give him your mobile ?

And had no replies or interviews
I have talked to some agency people and they say
To old (59)
Only ever held 3 jobs 1 for 5 yrs 1 for 21yrs 1 for 17yrs
Over qualified
So i gave up looking
I hope you get someone to fill all the positions you have

After 50 you are considered too old.... I know so many over 50 who can't find work.... And that's in Construction... Meanwhile the Government is still importing 457 visa workers into this Country....

Within two weeks I had started my own business. Shortly later that bloke that didn't give me the job rang and said the other fellow didn't work out and would I now like the job.
My reply was no thanks.
25 years later I'm so glad I didn't get that job and have been my own boss since.
Perhaps some that can't find work could look into business opportunities.
A friend of a friend who is a complete numbskull and couldn't get a job became a mobile dog washer and does really well now, it suits her well and she really loves it.
Instead of her sitting at home depressed she is in demand, enjoys the company of customers and makes plenty of cash.
Sorry to hijack your thread Pat, just thought it might help a few. A big tree starts with a seed.
