After a quick google search I came to find that it could be a simple modern pendant, OR it could be a valuable 1800's pendant as well.
A little bit of info on a similar one, that mentions that they had 'magical properties': https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/195088123/amazing-antique-15k-gold-sphere-orb-fob?ref=market
It could also be possible that it opens up, but I cannot see a hinge in your photos. To me, it is looking more like a container though, as an orb would nearly be perfectly round and spherical.

Almost looks like a counter weight for something? Perhaps 3 signifies 3 ounces?? Perhaps you could weigh it and check.
However atom rat makes a point too, it may just be a pendant as the yellow looks like enamel. The chunk missing off one side is a mystery though it seems like its that colour all the way through. ??
