How far do you want to travel, as there are lots of places local to you. East of Broadford is the closest gold bearing area. I havent personally prospected there, but the area near the Dabamingee creek(mispelt for sure) which used to be one of the reedy creeks in Vic. Prospecting in the Dabamingee is forbidden but the waterways leading into it are ok. Several areas north of Bendigo are ok but water tends to be a rare occourance. Towards Ballarat there are multiple areas. Just make sure that you stay away from the waterways that are exempt from prospecting. Ken.

Im in Broadford. There's a few creeks out near here that hold a little bit of gold.

Thanks for the spelling correction. There is heaps of old mines listed in the area as well, on google earth. Ken.
