Old news, this sort of practice has been going on for years, I bet you have even eaten a sausage bought from either a supermarket or butcher shop and didn't taste the sawdust that is mixed in with the meat.

I would have to disagree with you there Gippy. I spent about 5 years making McDonalds nuggets. I can tell you now there are no chemicals in the nuggets. The only thing in nuggets are pretty well chicken and salt.

One of my mates who used to be a manager at one of the McD's chain stores was telling me they had been serving all day and went to change out the gherkins barrel they used that day and found a dead rat at the bottom of it from the factory.

the regulations are that something like 4 % of meat pies must be meat so you have to ask what the rest is comprised of

Spend a day at an abattoir or "renderers" and you will turn vegetarian on the spot

a renderer is a huge rotating tank that is filled with rubbish like chicken heads , guts , feathers , legs , and probably the odd murder victim or two

the tank rotates and pulverises whatever is inside it while its heated from the outside by steam.

you end up with powder that smells and tastes like chicken stock / beef stock / or bikie flavoured stock

but the smell of the whole processing plant is more like " odour de maggot "
