Hi all. My name is Dave and live in Northam WA. My wife and I are planning to try a bit of a camping / prospecting trip in October to get back out bush and try something new. We have never tried prospecting before so please bare with me as I ask a multitude of random questions. I used to work on stations around Paynes Find so that might be where we start.

Cheers
Dave

Welcome mate . Ask away ,someone will have the answers

knowing people may get you onto some good untouched ground out there.. nothing beats local knowledge.. has there been any history of gold being found in that area??? that would be a bonus..

Paynes find is named after Thomas Payne. He found gold. I think his area was called Dafodil. There are others who find gold there and it even has some type of processing plant. I spent time mustering stock out there and rode over a lot of white quartz outcrops. I thought we would head for some of those and try our luck.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Wishfull I know nothing about detectors so I'll just do some reading up on this site. I'll be hiring one and there's a place I've seen called Prospectors Patch in Midland. They hire different types so I'll see what they have to say and more than likely try two different types.
