Unfortunately that's me even without towing anything....but atleast I move over and let people pass.

On the bright side, when there's nothing on telly, pop down to the local van park, pull out your camp chair and a beer, sit back and watch them attempt to reverse the vans in. Always good entertainment!

It wouldn't worry me if you came across a couple of vans doing 80, but its not a couple, you come across dozens every hundred kms or so, road trains overtake them, ever been looking at a road train coming at you when you are doing 130 and its doing 110? At the moment, they are heading north, so you need to be careful of other cars over taking the constant stream when you are heading south.

Kakadu. Lichfield, Darwin van parks, there is even an overflow park at berrimah.
Then I guess, they head to Broome.
I'm not exadurating, every free camping spot on the Stuart hwy, between Tennant crk and Darwin is full of vans by 4 pm , every day, from now till October.
The Daly river is so bad, that one spot will not let locals stay there any more, they need the room for the nomads. Its like a craze or something.
Pokemon for the mature traveller!

Same here in NQ, Nth OZ is Gods own country in the cool months, everyone wants a bit of it.

Good thing I've got rellies up there. I'm planning to pull my rig up in June, will park it in their front yard in Parap and get some R&R in at the Fannie Bay pub, where I met the missus in 1973..... must be a 'nomad' myself
Darwin.... pre-cyclone Tracy, those were the days..!

Fannie Bay pub?
Don't think that's there any more mate.
Unless it became the trailer boat club or the sailing club?

Beach front at night cliff still there, trailer boat club and sailing club both still good. Lizards has been re built.....now its modern, and sucks.

We'll be heading north after the end of the month I reckon. We are in Balingup tonight. Just had to hit the road for a couple of days and let Mrs M get her bottle fossicking out of the way before we go otherwise we'll be overloaded before we get out of WA.

Yep they are everwhere here in NQ now too. They dont tend to hit the road till after 9am here so make sure you are where you want to be by then and all good. We dont have 130 speed limits though only 100 and some 110 but where ever the 110 is you get road trains.
