I took a couple of days off last week and headed to a fine gold lease at the Palmer River. The first day was taken with repairing a small excavator then using it to move a bit of dirt for the owner. It was good to use the machine again as I've not been on it for awhile. The following day my detecting buds went for a short drive to see if we could rescue some gold from the harsh country up there. I have a new 4500 with a 14" mono elite coil and my mate had the 2300. We pulled up in a part of the river that I'd been to last year which yielded a bit over 4 grams. Once we got onto the right ground the 2300 hit 5 pieces before I was able to get a look in. I came across a narrow seam of Quartz that I decided to follow which gave up 3 pieces, all about 5" deep. It was getting on a bit so we left for camp and returned the following day. I came up with 4 pieces and my mate scored another 3. All up we got 2.6 grams. The mono elite is a great coil and I was stoked with the 4500 for my first time using it. The 2300 is wicked on the small pieces. The smallest piece I got was at 4" deep and is pretty tiny. We had a great time away and it was topped off for me when I picked up the little clay jar on the way home. It still has fingerprints in it from the maker's mark. It made my trip very special.

Well done Bro!

How did the machine pull up?
All went back together fine and worked well. It's a good little digger. That bedrock up there is flippin hard. It took awhile to scratch out the trench for Pete but it handled it ok. I'll give you a call when I get on top of the slabs I've got and try to catch up. Cheers rick
