After searching for a second hand faceting machine for a while without success I’ve decided to take on a challenge and get one of those cheap one’s knowing there will be some modifications required. - in progress

(1) mast base off centre( 2.5mm) required machining.

(2) master lap run out of about 0.8mm required machining

(3) arbor adaptor required in order cut girdle (manufactured/machined)

(4) replacement of cheap thumb screws and nuts

Total extra cost of $185.00

I’m now able to get consistent angles with the supplied digi reader. Just wanted to share my experience so far. I’m not at the cutting stage yet,

Added couple of thumb nuts for the angle hard stop and fine adjustment as well as bicycle quick release instead of nut and bolt.
