Recently commented on the Forums Baz creations as always amazed at the talent, hand skills and abilities many people have. Came across this and don't think i have ever seen so much emotion expressed in sand ever? To create something like this and not even get to keep it mind :( Kudos to all the gifted people out there :Y:

The spectacular piece of work has to have come out of somebody's head. You can't exactly have a model turn up there for the duration as many an artist would. And as you say Diginit, it will soon be gone back to sand. What a waste....

I absolutely love that sand sculpture!
It instantly reminded me of an old friend and someone I worked for back in the 90's.
Archie St. Clair from Alice Springs, now a resident of the USA.

I remember one of his sculptures that he was working on was similar to the sand sculpture, it was a ringer and you could see the stitches in his jeans and a round tin of tobacco in his pocket! It was awesome!

Couldn't find that pic on line, but this is one of his.

Nah mate, I helped Archie with this one when he was still in his chair.
It was a ringer and a beast he was pulling down.
The sculpture was in bits and you just slid the cowboy down onto the cow.
Obviously, this is in the clay stage!

I've seen Archie get that frustrated with what looks like a perfect piece to the model, he just smashed it flat with his fists!!
He may have been in a chair but he was a force to be reckoned with!
