I went detecting in a remote creek in a deep gorge. It took me a hour or so to reach the creek from the ridge line. Once there i realised id lost my pick on the way down. Bloody lantana !. So of i went detecting for a couple of hours. I picked up some sounds. Heaps of hot rocks, but the majority were little bits of peices of aluminium cans scattered thru out the creek. There is no track down here or any old mines. Would these peices of aluminium be placed to stop one from detecting. The gorge is full of thick lantana. There is no other rubbish around that i could see. Anyone ever come across this before.

Maybe space junk ?
or, you know how they drop tinfoil from jet fighters to foil (pun) radar while they fast track it out of the area ,... maybe you found a sprinkling of foil foil that is now a local menace to detecting, just a thought is all. :D

Also possibly put there to keep others away ... could be someones patch area ...

Around Georgetown the cattle eat the cans and crap it out...nicely masticated aluminium in cow-pats that gives a good signal. Only place I have found it so far.
