Had one of those pay it forward experiences today
Today I stopped by adelong falls as I was in the area for work
And cam across a late middle aged couple and their daughter in a wheel chair
After a short conversation
The young lady asked if there was still gold down there
Because of the stupid council the viewing platform was as close as she was ever going to get
Some 30 stairs between her and the action
I said yes
Because I am now a gold tragic I carry a old steel pan and a $3 scoop from bunnings
Or should I say used to !!!
I said wait there I will prove it
Took off with my pan and scoop in hand and returned puffed I will say
10mins later with some dirt I dug from a drop zone I liked
I said to her lets let it rip
So headed of to the nearby toilet for some water
Proceeded to give her the roughest lesson in panning ever (because I am hopeless lol)
After 15mins and dirt all over her
We got down to black and 1/8 rocks
Texas swirled it and BINGO
One sub picker
I could have been a ounce for her
Pretty happy with myself I said you keep the scoop
And the pan and keep up the good work
She was peaking her parents did not know what to say
But I did tell her that there was better access near the caravan park for her in her chair
I think I made a new prospector today

I class myself as pretty lucky in life
So I was humbled to show her the colour
