Absolute novice!

So far Ive got a small hand troul and scutch hammer
Ive ordered some panning gear online but it is yet to arrive!
Just looking for advice on what signs to look out for that might suggest the presence of something worth collecting? Are there certain landmarks to look for?

Im located in Gerringong on the coast but Im willing to travel
Ive heard Mittagong and Crookwell can be good places to look?

Oallen is where i go always get some there but its flour gold so highbanker or pan
My biggest was 1.9g for the day then a week to recover :8
