:) hi all the main reason why ive been off the fourms for a while is because im working on making my own 250 to 300 page book of the lost gold mines of ..... ..... i cant say cos i dont want to give too much away all im saying is its going to have 300 pages heaps of images loads of writeing underground mine maps of roughly 200 mines ive found on this remote goldfield in vic im not saying where cos im still working on my book when its done ill tell n show about it more i hope to finish it late this year or early next year ive got to re visit about 56 mine sites for images

I like - I like it a lot. This sounds terrific mate. Private sale of the book?? There are a few (not lost mines) Vic goldfield related privately published books about and they seem to do well. Tully etc etc.

yeah m8 someting like that will be selling them for $50 a coppy to cover some printing costs and fuel costs but well worth it in the end i reckon

i called them lost as there is little or no history about them or any maps of them some ant even on geo vic

Sounds great HTY

I look forward to seeing the end result. Count me in for a copy when available

Cheers

Good luck with that, should be an interesting/entertaining read based on some of your posts/photos.
Actually went to a book launch in Stawell on Sunday ..... Gold Mines of Stawell, a pictorial history written by Greg Cameron, interesting history and photos. $30 from Stawell Historical Society if anyone wants one (sure they won't mind a couple of images being shown to help promote it ... ).
Cheers T.

yeah will be a lot this one example images maps but the 2 things different will be that my book is of a different area in vic and will have mine maps underground mine workings  :)

Hi HTY,
The Stawell book has heaps of maps and photos of underground workings/layouts, many I believe now "out of bounds" as, and I could be wrong, they're under the control of the current Stawell Gold Mines operators. They also contributed, via a 'community grant scheme' to assist in getting it published and keeping the cost down ..... may be an option for you ????
Look forward to seeing your finished product.
Cheers T,

looking forward to your book mate that will record a lot of stuff before it is lost to time.... you are spending a lot of time in those old mines.. please be ridiculously careful in those old holes full of rotten timbers ect.. old saying.. swim with the sharks and sooner or later you will get bit.. and you are pushing the limits being down in more mines than then anybody else... But you are doing a great job and what do I know.. goodluck be with you. :)
