Well i moved recently so have been exploring some new ground, well new to me anyway as the place looks like every man and his dog has hit it, i would love to know how big the bits were that they were finding back in the day. Anyway they were kind enough to leave a few bits behind.
This first bit i pinged last weekend just below and old scraped area, picked it up at about 8-10 inches with my sadie, weighed in at 6.1 g if i remember correctly.
Went back there today and started working a small gully adjacent to the scraped area, first signal i got was actually 2 real rough looking bits both with a bit of stone still in them, because of the rough nature of them its hard to tell how much stone the larger one has in it so i guess ill have to soak it in alibrite for bit.
After i got those bits i gridded the sorrounding area but only come up with one small flat bit from that area. Then decided to hit an area a few hundred meters away that i knew a heap of small bits had been pulled from, i got one bit there before heading home for lunch. Total for the day was about 5 and a half grams, minus a bit for the stone in the speccie.
