Hi all
got out after work tonight as i finished on time and the sun was out.
Snuck the my 9 year old daughter out by telling the youngens we were heading to get dinner lol.
Spent around half hour on a spot I thought would be a good place to begin.
A spot where the monthly market is here in sale, wet grass and doesnt get looked after very well so I can practice extracting things out of the ground without upsetting anyone.
got it pretty well sorted without leaving any trace of our diggings.
I found two ring pulls and then the daughter wanted to have a go, so she drove the machine and I pinpointed.
All up we found $3.05 two ring pulls and some foil.
good fun and learning curve.
Going to try the other coil and check out some old diggings, can't wait.
Cheers Cam

Thanks mate.
We ended up just running in all metal mode in the coin mode.
and just dug up all targets.
Lilly was reading the numbers and working out what we should be finding on the chart I got off the forum.
A bit hit an miss though, I think i'll write down what numbers come up with each item and print it out.
Or just dig everything like we did today for practice and to get the feel for it.
Hoping to dig something up tomorrow out bush with the gold coil on.
cheers cam :)

when i get to go out i dig every target call it practice or fun i do it anyway
you never know what you pass up if i dont and then all i can think about is "what if" until i go back and dig ]:D ]:D ]:D
then its a tent peg or bottle top but at least i know what it was

Well done there Cam and great that you had your daughter with you as she will be hooked now as well enjoy as its a great hobby and it will only get better

Thanks for the encouragement fellas.
I'm thinking the same sort of way, dig everything and then I know exactly what it was. Plus practice in pinpointing and working out how to find the target.
There was one I couldn't find I think it was in the grass itself but being the only dry patch it wanted to fall apart so we put it back down, tidy it up and kept moving.

We reused a jar from dinner to keep our coins in.
Plan is to save our coins and then we can use them to buy a treasure trash bag.
Think I saw a camo one on phase website around the 20 buck mark.
Then we'll save for a Garrett carrot.

I broke the tool we used to make the slit in the grass
I picked up from Bunnings. Thick sharp scraper sort of like a barbie mate.
Cracked the plastic handle, it might be ok if the metal runs further up the handle but we made do.
In time I'll get a japanes digging blade i think they are called.
Try to find a second hand one if not new one.
Fun times

If there's time tomorow we might try the old swing bridge in sale as it's old and it was busy back in the day. Hopefully find some old coins or relics.
Fingers crossed but either way it's better than sitting inside watching Tele.
Cheers cam
