3D Topo Maps

Hi Guys,

I am looking for software or a website where I can view topo maps of Vic in 3D.

Software needs to be simple to use where you don't need to purchase 3 things to get going.

Any advice or feedback would be appreciated. I think its a great way of viewing detecting ground in 3D to get a sense of

gullies and the area in general.

Unless there is something out there I don't know about....

Firstly, I assume you want something to put on a laptop or PC, in which case you need an App and separately the maps. The software I use is Oziexplorer (App), the maps I use are Vicmap (25K Topo). However this is 2D, to view 3D it needs Oziexplorer3D (another App). It also needs the DTED height data, which is about 5DVDs of data, to extrapolate the data and build the map. I use all of them. There are other mapping programs, but others will need to let you know about them.

The other way to obtain 3D is; I have a Garmin E20 that I got with my 5000 last year. Two days ago I bought Garmin Topo maps and it has a 3D capability.

Whichever way you look at it, you will most likely need to buy 1 or 2 apps, some maps and/or a GPS.
