After a couple of fairly mediocre hunts got a tad luckier last week.
Found 3 pennies in the one hole - 2 1853/54 Vickies and what looks to be a Geo IV. The other Vickie is of the same vintage. My first thimble for quite a while was nice to see and on the way back to the car to return home I jagged the Prof Holloway "Pills and Ointments" 1858 1d token.
It has certainly been a great area but the lack of silvers has been surprising although the ones we've found have mainly been crackers.
