Hi all
Got up early to seek some permissions to get onto an old site or two. Struck it lucky with a person who told me the location of an old bottle dump about a kilometre away fro another old site I had worked with my son Justin last weekend. Directions proved accurate and sure enough there were plenty of pieces of old glass, it certainly looked 1800s. And in the middle of nowhere. To cut a long story short I spent about 2 half hours locating extra dumps and site of possible houses. A scratchy 12:35 came up and a 1885 penny in beautiful condition greeted the fresh air for the first time in probably 120 years or more. Then another beautiful 1873 penny followed. by an 1881 penny, again in nice nick. After more finds, that sweet 12:45 sound rang in my headphones and I thought could it be silver and it was a beautiful 1874 shilling, in great condition I was ecstatic!. Then a 1884 penny emerged. The run of good luck continued. The next find was a 1874 penny in terrific condition (all pennies 12:38 on the etrac). I filled the hole and scanned the coil again and a sweet 12:43 signal rung up - was this another coin so filmed it live and was delighted to find an 1879 sixpence in terrific condition.
Happy detecting everyone!
