Panning in the hail!

....aaaaaand then it snowed....

have returned home wearing 4 layers and still half frozen.

Well done Sniffy,

Panning at Ararat last weekend sent my hands into hibernation mode until I got up to the fire every half hour to thaw out. Campfires are a must during winter if you plan on getting wet even if its just a day trip.

Nice looking gold BTW

I would like to head out that way for a weekend, but I'm out of Aus for the next three weekends. Is there much running water there atm?

and yeah I hear you. I'm wearing half wetsuit, and neoprene socks in boots. Gloves a waste of time its so cold - they hurt more with them on.

In honesty it was a lot of humping gear for a few hours digging with numb feet and hands and maybe one decent piece of Alluvial. Definitely better than nothing but I do a lot better out gippsland. I may as well be swinging an idiot stick in the woods (hahah sorry detect'in guys!).

:)

ugh augh !,.... naughty naughty(ha) :D

My spot last weekend had plenty of water but not running. If you have the highbanker you could set it up anywhere along the creek and recirc all day. In the last 2 years I have seen it running only once but hopefully with continued rain in a month or so it should be flowing enough for a sluice
