I had my first experience at prospecting for gold at the Jupiters Creek gold fields last weekend. I found two cans (20 cents) and no gold but the experience was a treasure. It was hot and dry walking through the bush and I feared a snake would be around every corner but seeing the old mine shafts made me think how hard it was for the prospectors over a hundred years ago to dig in the heat with no modern conviences. I look forwared to my next hunting adventure which will be in the Barrossa Valley South Australia. I will also take a tracking device as I almost got lost in the bush even though I was trying to keep on the track but gold hunting makes one a little excited, so be careful out there people and stay safe........
