G'day guys n gals, I have bought a 2.5HP pump for my highbanker, it has a 1.5" outlet on it.
My highbanker has 1" inlet, that splits at a "T", one to the spraybar (1", 14 holes @ 6mm) and the other to a outlet at the top of the highbanker ( 1" outlet ).
I don't want to fry the motor / pump, but to me it would seem fine to run the 1.5" at 3/4" or 1", am I correct with this or am I just going to kill the motor by choking the outlet too much?

I am only asking this as I am not sure if I had bought a factory dud from ebay or if I had "choked" the outlet on the pump too much, I ended up having to replace the pump for a new one as the first just had so many issues, but hopefully I didnt cause these issues by stepping down the outlet. I am using 1.5" flathose from the pump to the spraybar / blaster.

outlet should have no effect on the pump. Just run at a speed that gives what you want. Lots of people here step down outlet size.

Yeh will be fine at correct revs.
I would run 1.5" lay flat delivery all the way to the box and then use a nipple reducer down to 1"at the box connection. Use 1.5 female camlocks on the hose both ends, with a male 1.5 camlock on the box and reducer to screw in to the box fitting. Will actually give great pressure and you won't have to work the motor near as hard saving fuel and life expectancy. ;)

Your only problem will be weight but it will great for busting up the clay. A bit of envy with my pump at the moment

As long as the pump has water it wont harm it , reducing it will help deliver good pressure . Im running a 3 inch down to 1.5 and in most circumstances im almost running the pump near idle to provide me enough flow. Bit more enjoyable without all the noise and also attracts less attention ;).
