I was ripping out an old kitchen and found a Nov 23rd 1977 Melbourne Sun. The cost was 10 cents. John Denver had just arrived for a concert. Evonne Crawley was winning the tennis. The immigration minister was worried about Vietnamese boats arriving saying, the arrivals had important implications for the preservation of Australia's "territorial integrity". Black and white TV's that were repaired back then, were selling for $10. An EJ holden or ford ute with 12 months rego for $500. New tyres for $20 each. And a one bedroom unit in Brunswick for $30/week. Isn't that strange that it's the 23rd of Nov today.
