First ever gold!! All in my 2nd pan (2 of 2 for the day) Can only see two tiny specs in the picture but there are four in total. To hot with a pregnant wife for me to do any more. I know it's nothing compared to other posts but I am excited to say the least!!!

Metal Detector advice $500 to $1500

Thanks for that Dave. I didn't know the x-terra 705 struggles to find gold. I'll have to look into the detectors that you have suggested, I might even hold off for a few months and save to get a bit better quality detector. Thanks for your help mate

Metal Detector advice $500 to $1500

Thanks for your replies everyone, I'm leaning towards the x-terra 705 to start with my budget and see how often I actually get out and use it. Then hopefully upgrade to a dedicated gold detector and use the x-terra for coin shooting :)

Hi Lord, I have just got a pan a few weeks ago and had a play around with some dirt. I haven't got a detector yet but me and a mate were thinking about getting one each it's just a big start up cost when we don't know if we will use them enough. What about yourself? Do you use a detector?
