Hi Phill. We were up around the Glen Innes area recently and tried to find that guy. Apparently he is in a nursing home now in the blue mountains area and there was nobody continuing his outings since then unfortunately. John

We used to enjoy going up to '7 Oaks' propery near Inverell and camping for a few days sapphiring each day. Picked up some nice stones there, especially after the rain and walking along the road specking. Unfortunately they closed that area to the public now.

Beautiful. That's great that you have kept them. Some of the sapphires that my brothers have found and sold have given them regrets for selling later on in life. I like to keep all of my gems, not that i have any large ones though 😀😀😀

Great pictures. I never realised how much work had been done around this area. Went there for a bit of a scratch around a couple of years ago but didn't find anything worthwhile. The track in is definitely closed at the moment. Drove past on the way to Orange.
