Thanks Barra just googled 'Chalcopyrite' and indeed looks like the stuff. This rock is from Gympie on the sunshine coast.

Borrowed son's earth magnets and indeed every surface of the rock is magnetic. Here are some more pics.

Have no idea what type of rock it is. Fridge magnet doesn't stick to it at all.

The fine substance inside this rock. I don't think it's Gold doesn't look yellow enough to me but I'm very clueless so thought I would ask here :)
