Well done @Benosan1 I am still chasing down my first piece although I have not yet got a pi detector. I have just come into a couple of extra $ and was thinking of getting a second hand gsx5000 as my first pi detector. It is a lot of coin and I am weary of fake detectors in the market too...

Thanks for your post Hagar. I’m new to the game and thinking of heading up that way in a few weeks after visiting the Atherton tablelands. Do you know if they are open into October? I only have a low end detector and almost zero experience so if someone is there to offer any advice I am all ears!
