Panning, around large rocks, crevicing in cracks and grooves but is covered by slate, mud, clay, sometimes two or three feet deep. All the good stuff on the bottom. Some areas like concrete.

That's so true. This is miles away from where most people go. Always found good gold if you're prepared to walk a fair way in.
