No luck for us but an English guy a few weeks ago said he'd found a couple of very small bits. Gold hunting clubs seem to camp there now and then, but last group I saw there said only one guy had found some nice little nuggets - but he went further afield, and also hiked a fair way I think.

We haven't found anything there (only a few tries though), but we left a nice new little digger there last year - so someone's probably found a bonus :(

We haven't found enough gold to warrant expensive boots - but my $12 Aldi gumboots (nice and flexible) and his cheap Bunnings ones work well when we're not wearing old lace-ups, or when we're panning - to keep the leeches at bay!

Good topic and some great advice, thanks! I should have thought of reading the Minelab blog... will check it out as well as the other tips. We've tried a few areas around the GT and got some tiny bits but it's easy to get frustrated and think all the gold's all been taken out already. Still...
