Hi Mountaineer. I am also looking to get a bit more depth out of my GPX6000. How have you found the Minelab 17" mono? Is it punching lower without too many drawbacks?

These did fit with some modification. Slightly short in length and won't click straight into the holding clips.

Deano Your info has has made me more positive about my detecting which is important. Having the right equipment is important but some bad habits had snuck into my detecting technique which I am now aware of as well. Cheers

The 6000 seems to work better earlier in the day on a freshly charged battery with the 11" mono. Later in the day it can struggle and becomes unstable. Could be EMI, ground temp or detector temp I guess overloading it. A backup battery might give me some answers. I am also going to give the 14"...

Detector GPX 6000. Would swapping from the GPX 11 mono coil to the GPX 14 DD coil consume more power over any given time period. Does the type of coil also make a difference? Thanks Andrew
