    Pre decimal butchering

That was to main way to make a silver ring. For sterling silver the shilling has to be pre 1946. I have even found one made this way while detecting parks.

can anyone melt down some gold leaf?

If it is real gold leaf it is 24 ct and worth much more to an art supplier than it gold weight. This was small nuggets and specimens melted with propane but found it hard doing lumps greater than a couple of ounces.

Hi everybody from Pete & Rie (Sth East Vic)

Pete_&_Rie Good to see a couple detecting. My wife and I did some dredging to-gether back in the 1970s and started detecting in 1979 at her request. We still spend a lot of time interstate detecting when we can get away.

They say that the ATX is good for small gold, but these days a 6.62 gm is a monster. Great work you deserve it.

How do you store your gold?

I no longer use glass or breakable containers. A drop of white king bleach will solve the green effect in water.

    Wolf Creek 2

Seen it today, wife wanted to see it. I expected to cringe more than I did at the portrayed Aussy character. The roo scene was unexpected. To sum up some surprises , gory and OK. The wife said the first was better I think this was a little better.
