Heritage Laws in Victoria being used against metal detectorists

Yes it is wokeness in the extreme. Unfortunately this stuff has been creeping in insidiously for decades. It is more unsettling on the population than covid. The saddest thing is that we never ever voted for the garbage they ((whoever "they" are) have inflicted upon us.

    Whinge of the day thread...

One of the best lettuce growers in Qld was not offered enought by the supermarkets to cover the cost of the carton let alone the product so he ploughed the lot in. What a waste of rersources and effort. That was about 16 years ago. I bet the capsicum grower got about 50 to 70c..

I think they were too silly to realise that this year there was going to be a massive upsurge in demand because of all the un Australian stuff that has recently intensified.

    Internet searches

Yes I have found that. Some entities pay extra to be at the top of a list. I find I have to scroll down perhaps 20 entries before I find what should have been on top of the list. Besides that I find that in general researching is now much more difficult.

    Living with Electric Vehicles

Yes and it appears solar and wind power claims are starting to look very dubious.

    Can you identify this.

Morning mate. Looks like a pocket lighter. Google images threw up something very similar. Maybe from around 1933 or so.. https://www.antiquesnavigator.com/d-4229208/antique-art-deco-mitsugiri-bakelite-permanent-match-strike-pocket-lighter-japan.html

A few finds from Mt Perry

Good morning, Another warm day coming up.. Yes I find Trove an excellent source of info. I use it a lot when delving into history. Maybe spend way too much time on it. I have not had a look for old aerial photos yet. Found some years ago but not sure where. I don't like anything much over...

A few finds from Mt Perry

Hi again. I have not been to visit the neigbours place yet. When I get there I will have a look about also. I am not much into chasing gold etc but I like looking for items with a bit of history. Not that I have done much of that. I hope to have a look around some old racecourses, halls and...

There is lots of diversity on this website. I love all of it and go and look wherever my whim takes me. I am strongly against censorship.

    Whinge of the day thread...

Yes I must agree. Micromanagement is creeping in, It seems caged chooks are on the way out in favour of free range etc. I had two free range eggs for breakfast this morning Small yolks and very pale same as last time.. Why not let us decide for ourselves what we want to buy.
