    Lesgold’s NOX finds

Went away for a couple of days in the van. Decided to have a play on the beach. Nothing exciting really but quite a few spendables. I did find a 1967 American quarter dollar which was a long way from home.

Aftermarket Coils for the GPX 6000 - Coiltek

It’s a pity that manufacturers don’t consider making alternate shaft systems for the 6. I reckon that problem needs to be addressed before larger coils are even considered. The choices in relation to small coils is tremendous. Hopefully down the track, DD coils will be explored as viable options...

That’s a thought. Could that be the case if it is stamped 925? Don’t know. There is obviously a lot to learn.

    Cleaning spendable coins

Hi Folks, Was talking to a mate who has been working the beaches for years. He told me that he drops his saltwater coins into hydrochloric acid for a minute or two and this cleans his spendable quite well. The big green shed had a clearance on hydrochloric a couple of weeks ago. 500ml for $1...

Cleaned the ring last night and it came up quite well. A couple of questions for the wizards. Any idea on what the stone might be? The hallmark came up as 925 with a trailing P. What does the “P” stand for? The T id for this ring was 21 to 23. Sounds a bit low for silver. Any thoughts? cheers Les

    Today I COOKED.

Hi Jaros, There is a bit of sugar in the recipe. One tablespoon of sugar is added to the mix but that makes two loaves of bread. The yeast would have a good feast on that sugar and help the dough rise.

    Today I COOKED.

Cooked up a pea and ham soup being a little cool and wet outside today. Wanted some bread to go with it. Turkish bread is a fav. and I’ve never made it before. Here’s the first attempt. Unfortunately it tasted as good as it looks.

    Lesgold’s NOX finds

A mate and I worked a cut in the beach yesterday afternoon. Looks like there may be some potential if we want to get wet feet. Will wait for the seas to settle a bit and go for another look. Nothing of any value turned up except for a chain and one ring. The chain is in bad nick and the ring...

    Lesgold’s NOX finds

Hi Folks, Went out for a hunt on a new beach yesterday. Found mostly spendables. They were all located in one small area below a cut in the beach. The tide was high so it was a dry detect. As the beach repairs itself after the big seas from last month, the coins are getting deeper. Pulled a lot...
