    Lesgold’s NOX finds

Went back to one of my local haunts for a bit of a play yesterday afternoon. It’s been about 6 weeks since my last swing so I was interested to see if anything would turn up after a few rough seas. Was actually surprised to see that a small area of rocks had reloaded with goodies over that...

    First Venture fail and fever

Hi Greg, Glad you enjoyed your trip down to Mogo. Always wondered what the name of that vine was. It really does get caught up in your coil. I have another name for that particular plant but if I told you, it would result in me being banned for life. It’s hard work down here and finding spots...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Lovely photo there Solid Luck. Wish I had some nice, easy detecting country like you have. I’ll post a pic of what it’s like in our area in a day or so. At least you can see the ground.

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Spreading a little dynamic lifter over the prospecting site before detecting appeared to make a slight difference. Some rainfall and warm weather may encourage some nugget growth. It’s really hard trying to find a place to swing a coil due to the undergrowth and vines.

    Beekeeping

Interesting clips. Thanks for posting them Greenhornet. Hopefully they can continue to hold the spread of the mite and eradicate the little blighters. Fingers are crossed at the moment.

    Beekeeping

Hi Mackka, The bees normally cope with the cool weather if they are nice and compact and have plenty of food. (stored honey) At this time of year, their stockpile of honey may be getting low and they could be starving. Having plenty of honey above the brood box also acts as a bit of an...

    Beekeeping

Hi Folks, Haven't posted about the bees for a while. At the moment I’ve got this nervous feeling about the Varroa outbreak. It’s going to be heartbreaking for beekeepers and anyone else that relies on bees for their living if this bug takes control. Looks like the infected areas are pretty well...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

I hope you have a safe to store that haul in. Security cameras will be a must now that you have struck it rich. I did notice the piece on the bottom right looks very much like this one Perhaps it could be named the “Solid Luck Stranger”

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

OK Solid Luck, let’s go. You may have the smallest nugget of the month so far but it won’t be for long. Just practicing today to fine tune the hearing. These monsters almost tore a hole in the shirt pocket due to their weight.

Gee Solid Luck, that’s a chunky nugget. Wish I could find gold that size. I’m only finding small stuff at the moment……

    Lesgold's videos

Hi Folks, A cool day here today so it was a chance to get out and swing the 6000 over some old workings that have been detected with all the machines that I have owned. Hoped to find a scrap or two with the 6. Hope you enjoy the clip. cheers Les

    Detector Scoops

That’s a nice looking scoop Ozzie. Really like the riffles. It’s pity that they are really needed these days.

    Detector Scoops

Thanks Greenhornet and everyone else who has contributed. I’ve been away for a few days so I couldn’t really make any comments. There has been some good ideas and thoughts presented over the past week. One point I should have raised was the colour of the scoop. Is it important to you? in my...

    Detector Scoops

I keep on having a dream about not having the strength to lift a full scoop up due to its weight. Unfortunately, that issue has never arisen.

    Cleaning spendable coins

I cleaned up a couple of old, worn predecimal silvers the other day. Soaked them in lemon juice over night. Washed them in water and then rubbed them with bicarb until clean. They were in poor shape but came up very clean at the end of the exercise.
