    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Little targets at depth, with a small coil and chance of missing a signal increases. The zed due to its coil type, is a lot more forgiving in a similar situation.

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Went out to an old spot and struggled with vines, wattles and scrub for a few scraps. At least it’s the right colour….

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Hi Phil, I wish that was the reason but the 6 ran smoothly in both those areas. I’m tending to lean more towards the depth of the targets than anything else. Doesn’t really matter though, both are good machines and the gold ended up in my rattle jar.

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Went to a different area for a swing on Saturday with my mate. Decided to get the zed out for a change to see if there was any deeper, bigger bits around. A bit of rain the night before made the machines noisy in some of the wet, mineralised areas. The detectors started to behave themselves as...

Haven’t been out panning for a couple of years Sparra. Should make the effort and do a bit more especially now that there’s a bit of water around.

Worked hard yesterday for a few pieces. In some places it was hard to get the coil on the ground. As usual, the vines, ferns and wattle saplings were a pain. It’s a real test of a persons temperament. There were a couple of times that the savage beast was unleashed……

    Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 Review

Spoke too soon. Got a bit of rain the night before last. Not enough to make the ground overly wet but it was enough to activate the charcoal in the soil slightly. Over the past couple of weeks the ground has been as quiet as a mouse. Noticed yesterday that some charcoal was making the detector...

    Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 Review

SL, it has been dry for about a month now. Its actually quite good out in the bush. The 10x5 has been running quite well flat out and the standard coil on sensitivity 3 or 4. Sometimes you can crank it up but only in the really dry areas and in the mornings before everything heats up.

Hi Aaron. It’s a bit hard to say as to how depth compares between the machines as I haven’t tried to test the 6k against the SDC. The 6k does find gold much deeper but it would be difficult to quote numbers due to a whole bunch of variables such as ground type, nugget size, shape and porosity...

    Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 Review

Hi Folks, I went out for a morning session with the Goldhawk tethered to the 6k. Just worked in the same area where a mate and I did some filming a couple of days ago. Managed to squeeze out a few more micro bits before running the detector over a mound that I’d detected with the standard coil...

If you could tell me where your big gold is located, I’ll come out and test my settings on it. :D:D:D

GPX6000 - Tips, Tricks, Settings, Accessories & Other Notable Findings

I’ve got a few tips and tricks that I use when chasing the small gold. Obviously running in auto plus tends to be an advantage at times but not always. Some nuggets respond well regardless of the sensitivity whereas others cannot be heard unless you are in auto +. I guess it has a bit to do with...

Hi folks, A mate and I put together a clip on comparing the Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 to the Minelab 11” mono coil. We knew that the gold would be small in this gold field so the comparison was biased in that way. We had a great time filming and detecting in this area. We both agree that different...

A mate and I had a good day on the micro gold today. This is my share of the treasure. My mate had similar results. You don’t mind digging holes for this type of stuff. Sure beats working for a living. cheers Les

    Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 Review

Well it looks like chicken drumsticks and wings for dinner. A mate and I went out to do a bit of filming comparing the 11” Minelab coil to the Goldhawk 10x5 on real targets. We went into a deep lead area where the old timers holes were up to about 10m deep. I’d found about 5 targets a couple of...

    Beekeeping

Off to the markets this morning to sell a bit of honey. Made up a display hive to give people a chance to look at bees doing their stuff and hopefully ask a few questions.

    Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 Review

Yesterday I found enough gold to buy a couple of chicken wings. I have a feeling in my water that tomorrow is the day. Chicken drumsticks here we come.……. I can taste that honey and soy chicken now.

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Went out for a couple of hours on some old workings that I’d done to death in the past with the SDC. It’s surprising what the 6000 can sniff out. The first bit was on the edge of an 8m hole. Had to lie down and put the scoop into the hole to catch the gravel as it was scratched out. I then went...

Sorry to hear that mate. You take care of yourself. The bush is a great place to allow the mind to relax and slowly, over time, heal the pain.

    Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 Review

On Sunday my wife and I went out for a morning session. Came back with a nice box of flathead. That afternoon I snuck out for a swing for a couple of hours and came home with a small rattle jar of gold. My grandkids and some of the family ate the fish last night. I honestly can’t complain about...
