    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Hi Aaron, We have had a few years of good weather following the bush fires. Regrowth due to the ash has been amazing. Prospecting local spots has been difficult and impossible in most spots. The photo was not indicative of the country that I have been searching. That piece was found in a gully...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

It was in an area that was surrounded by old alluvial workings. I expect it was moved there by flood or fast moving water after the ground was turned over.

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Took the 6 out for a swing with the 12x7 Xceed attached. Was happy to come home with a nice tally for a few hours detecting. The bigger piece came out of loamy soil on the root system of a tree. Was expecting rubbish but was pleasantly surprised.

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

I went for a walk yesterday to the same spot I worked last week. Took the Xceed 12x7 for a play. Worked hard to squeeze out a few little fellas. The coil was as smooth as silk until wet mineralised ground was hit. Both the small coils for the 6k play up a bit under those conditions.

    Lesgold's videos

Hi Folks, Just finished putting together a clip of a few of yesterdays finds. The Goldhawk 10x5 squeezed out 3 bits that a larger coil would not have found due to tight areas. This little coil continues to impress.

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

A mate and I went back to a location that we worked with zeds a couple of years ago. The 6k with the small 10x5 goldhawk allowed us to get into tight spots that the bigger coils could not effectively detect. Areas in rock piles and gaps between tree roots produced a few little pieces of the...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

A mate and I went out for a scratch around in the bush yesterday. It was nice to have a bit of cool weather for a change.

    Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 Review

Really wet grass and saturated ground make the coil sound off. I’ve had that happen before when going out after rain. The coil settles down when things dry up. You would probably need a snorkel or learn how to hold your breath if you were out detecting at the moment.

    Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 Review

Hi Dave, My replacement 11” coil from Minelab hardly has a scratch on it. The 10x5 doesn’t leave the machine. If I want to look for bigger, deeper gold, the zed comes out. This little coil runs quiet and we are finding that in a few areas we can run flat out in normal. Hot rocks can be the issue...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Went out with a mate to a spot that we’ve been to many times. We walked quite a bit, found plenty of lead shot but only a few pieces of yellow between us. I was waiting at the ute as my mate returned from his walk. He was tired and frustrated as he hadn’t had a signal for quite a while. He said...

    Today I MADE

All valid points guys and well worth raising for those who are considering this. The other point to consider is the value of the gold in nugget form. Even small pieces such as the ones that I’ve melted down can have a slightly higher value than the button that was produced. It basically comes...

    Today I MADE

Just finished melting down some of the tiny stuff that the 6000 has been turning up. Decided to make a button that would end up being about 10 grams in weight. The gold was cleaned in acid, dried and added to a hollowed out potato with some borax. The gold and flux mixture was then heated...

    Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 Review

Glad you like it Dave but please don’t tell anyone. We want to be selfish and keep all the gold to ourselves. It really does nail that small stuff but it also has the potential to find hidden bits in locations that bigger coils can’t reach.

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

The 12x7 Xceed got its first run this morning. Unfortunately the gold was hiding today and we struggled to find many targets. My mate was running the Coiltek 10x5 and we wanted to see how the coils compared in the field. Initial results were as you would expect. The smaller coil produced a...

Gold fever tends to grab you quickly. Once you get the disease back, the thirst has to be quenched.

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

It was great to get out for a couple of hours yesterday after a long break from detecting. Pleased to see that there is still some scraps left to find.

    Beekeeping

Hi Folks, Just checked the bees this morning to see how my comb honey was progressing. There is a bit of a flow on at the moment and the girls are doing what they do best. Combs are well drawn and nectar is being stored in the frames. Hopefully there will be a harvest in a few weeks. Cheers Les

What are YOU doing right NOW

Sitting in a bed at Canberra hospital waiting to go under the knife in the morning. Saw benches can bite hard. One mistake can be costly. My ability to count in fractions has been enhanced. 9.25 will be my best count if all goes well.

Pending Garrett Axiom release in Aust.

Good onya Steve. Hopefully your wish will come true. Competition keeps the price of treasure detectors at a reasonable price. It would be nice to see this occur in the gold detecting range in the near future. Wishing you a merry Xmas as well. May your rattle jar tear holes in your pockets over...

Pending Garrett Axiom release in Aust.

I agree Philip. The better the detector is, the more nervous Minelab will become. I’m pleased to see that there is another machine around that finally has the capacity to find some gold. When there are some quality aftermarket coils produced, there will be a lot of people taking notice. Could...
