Blue Bowl Concentrator information and questions

Cheers for the info , im using a 2 classification system, its pretty basic as it is using a $10 sieve from kmart and a $2 piece of flyscreen from bunnings. I can see quite a lot of fine gold settling on outer edge of the bowl but i think you would be correct on that im loosing fine gold. Id...

Blue Bowl Concentrator information and questions

Im using a 2 classifier system for the first few runs, a $10 kitchen strainer from kmart and a piece of fly screen which put me back $2 from bunnings . Each of these fit nicely into one of my super sluice pans and then the cons go into the blue bowl. Once i hit my goal of 1oz of alluvial in a...

Blue Bowl Concentrator information and questions

Ive got a miller table and it works fine. Only issue is with the amount of black sand im bringing home each trip its taking me 2-3hrs ( sometimes longer) to pan out , dry and weigh the gold. I dont mind doing it but i was wondering if there is a less time consuming way of seperating the black...

Are they as labour intensive as a miller table? What sort of volume are you left with ? What sort of ratio is left at the end? Sorry for the questions. Cheers

Blue Bowl Concentrator information and questions

Hi all, just wondering how blue bowls go for seperating black sand from gold? Each time i go out im bringing home a 6" finishing pan full of black sand and panning it at home to recover the gold. I do most of my prospecting in Reeds Ck in NE Vic if your wondering how heavy the black sands are...

    Crevices Eldrado

Reedy creek has always produced gold in the pan anywhere along its stretch , due to the recent heavy rains we have had most of the crevices will have been filled with flood gold. Not too many people have been out in the last fortnight due to how poor the weather has been. Good to see your...

    My first detecting session

My friend says his only heard of 1 live grenade being found in 25 years , but yes still enough to keep me aware of what's going on . I'm thinking coin shooting around parks would be safer lol . I've got a few things in mind but not sure how well they'd go down with the general public lol

    WTB: Angus Mackirk Sluice

Hi all , looking at purchasing a sluice in the near future but thought I'd see if anyone had one they were willing to part with. I'm after a grubstake or larger, I'd prefer a foreman but beggars can't be choosers ?. Thanks Ben
