    10 tab

If you want to go top end you could look at the Microsoft Surface, as it is a fully functional PC that in its basic form is a tablet. But you can get a snap on keyboard for it that doubles as a screen protector. Having said that be aware that the screens are sensitive and if you break it they...

    What is a Aboriginal today

There is an excellent post on a social media platform that I can't stand (Farcebook), by a young lady of Aboriginal descent, named Jacinta Nampijinpa Price. I am not sure if I can or should link to it, but you can likely search for her on Facebook. A very balanced and well put together history...

    Snake Bite Kits and bandages

Same for me. I have several sets, cost is no object when a life may be at risk. But I have found that none of the first aid courses that I have done in the last few years used them, although the most recent one did point out to the class that they were available. Rob P.

    Crazies In The Outback?

As Simmo said, "Check out Dave Wrights books". They are "Blood Gold Revenge" and "Bush Redemption". I have read both, with the first one based loosely on the facts I believe, but I think that the second one may have been more fictional. Dave had first-hand knowledge of the situation and used it...

    Quick & nasty camper conversion

Thanks RM, I received the same notice today. I was able to order leather, rivets, different colour waxed threads, etc, online from them and have it delivered to home. Since then I have restored another axe and made axe masks from the leather for both. Now I am into doing more restoration on the...

    Any astro buffs here?

I am a bit like a couple of the other contributors, have no direct information regarding your planned Dobsonian, but telescopes can be fun to play with, but also eat a few $$. I did a Donsonian when a travelling person would run sky night sessions in a caravan park about 8 years ago, but the...

    Any real estates people here.?

Thanks OldGT, the agent is currently discouraging those without a solid financial background, but I am still a bit worried regarding what I'll end up with. I was planning on selling the place, but the CovID19 situation has had a significant impact on the potential buyers, with several...

    Any real estates people here.?

I have a different situation. I have a 2BR unit for rent in Melbourne, but the agent is finding that several of those looking and possibly applying are out of work and relying on Govt hand-out to pay their bond and rent. But what happens if they are just trying to take advantage of the Govt...

    Today I BOUGHT

Thanks for the offer but no thanks, I will stick with my wire mesh one like Redfin showed. Rob P.

    Today I BOUGHT

Looks the goods except it costs an arm and a leg to get it in Oz. Web search found them $27 and upwards. Rob P.

Satellite phones & networks + GPS Devices

My GME Accusat (PLB) battery has also just run out so I am in the market a replacement. So when the stay at home conditions ease a bit, I will be out looking myself. Rob P.

    Quick & nasty camper conversion

Thanks RM, that is the type of place that I want and in Melbourne no less. Shut today, but will query their hours of operation and plan a visit, just have to watch out for the Stay at home police, as miles from me, but I maybe have an excuse to be travelling through that area soon. Rob P.

    Quick & nasty camper conversion

Thanks Gem, I can do the leatherwork, and I have done a bit recently and have most of the desired tools, but sourcing the leather that is a bit heavier duty than that stocked by general craft shops has been my problem. I also want to put some whipping on the handle near the head to protect it...

    Quick & nasty camper conversion

Two of the followup projects associated with the extracurricular trailer activity (collecting wood) were making a mount suitable for the trailer for a small old re-purposed wood vice that could be used to hold chainsaws while giving their chains a little touch-up, plus the second project...

    Quick & nasty camper conversion

During my recent BlazeAid vollie work, I was asked if I could forgo the Campervan and bring the Prado as some of the site access was a bit iffy. So I dragged out the old trailer with the rooftop tent on it and used that as my accommodation. That worked fine as meals were supplied and it was...

What Car, what brands do you trust for the Outback?

Strange that you say that as I have worked on several cattle stations where they basically only buy ex-mining vehicles and as far as I can recall they have not had any such issues. It may depend on where they are sourced from and the pre-purchase check processes that they have carried out. Rob P.
