    Rock Crusher Hire

Yeah if you had that dumping strait into a hammer mill of equal size then into a sluicing system you would have your own mobile processing plant and with good ore you could cover hire cost by smoko :-)

    Rock Crusher Hire

Haha nice bit of kit although the output size at the smallest is 10mm so only good as a 1st stage crusher still need to get that out down to around 1mm depending on how you are processing your ore.

    ancient and buried leads

Hey mate did you end up crushing some of that quartz. because the only way really to tell if a lode has gold in it is to crush it. I found similar looking stuff and its worth just on 1g per tonne but not rich enough for me to take to it with hammer and chisel. If you with in 50km of Ballarat you...

    Snakes & Prospecting Safety

Snake first aid is rather simple but must be applied correctly from my time in the army this was drilled into us every year as snakes can bite trough most clothing I certainly would not trust jeans or overalls to stop a snake bite, as the fangs on the Taipan can reach 12mm and only need to cut...

How long is too long for a sluice?

One advantage of a long sluice is you can feed it harder and wont loose gold because you give the gold enough time to settle out. My latest build is 1800mm x 300mm and i have almost no losses. though mine does break down into 2 halves for transport.

    Highbanker that I'm to make.

Yeah mate sluice is 1800mm x 300mm x 200mm and the hoppers is 800mm x 285mm x 200mm very strait forward and i just used a piece of cable tray in the top hopper i had grizzlies at first but didn't quite make em right so went with cable tray until i can get a new set made up. and if you run...

    Highbanker that I'm to make.

Hey mate I can tell you this if you are going to get serious about gold you will soon become frustrated with the labor intensive walbanker, a hopper takes all the mucking about out of the picture take a look at my latest build its the same size as the walbanker with no taper in the sluice and...

    Home made highbanker

yeah the flow can very but you box should be in the same league as the viper and that is recommended to have no less than 6500gph or 21000lph. but the main thing to get rite is that the water in you box is deep enough with enough velocity to allow proper transfer of material. so you could just...

Need help identifying a pink stone found at Nundle.

I recently read that there is a push to refer to all pink sapphires as ruby's as the chemical formulas are identical Al2O3, ruby and pinks get the color from from the addition of chromium and iron and the both should glow under UV light so literally they are the same stone with 2 names.
