    SteelPhase Headphones

Old thread, but I thought I'd just give a little update. The Gel Filled pads and headband is one thing that makes the Pro Series headphones super comfortable, but yes as they are a closed isolating headphones they can get steamy in hotter weather. So more breathable leatherette style pads are...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

I agree with your old man looking for his dentures on the bottom one, but the top one looks like a comic image of Bob Hawke! Awesome gold whichever way you look at it.

    Bigger nugget finder z search?

Make sure you try High Yield and General. I've found General to run a little smoother on the 17" which is the key to depth on the bigger bits. In High Yield you may need to drop Sensitivity a little as the ground is still so wet everywhere. Good luck!

Jupiter Creek SA Not Giving Up The Good Stuff?

Jupiter Creek has been good to me over the years, even though I've come to hate the place, mainly due to being spoilt in Vic, and locally I find Crawford so much more relaxing. The EMI at Jupiter and the bull ants can both be brutal haha. If anyone is looking for some inspiration to give...

Beginners Detecting Mistake..."Walking away from gold too soon."

Excellent post and a great reminder. I know when I've found gold in a virgin spot, I immediately think "patch" and scoot off in every direction trying to find the next piece. When that fails I take a breath, walk back to where the nugget was, and carefully detect the immediate area round the...

    Detech Coil information

Hi mate, I've used both and the basic differences are: SEF runs quieter in really mineralised ground SEF is lighter The Ultimate is a lot more sensitive Depth on larger gold is about the same if they can run on similar settings.

What are these tabs / channels for on Minelab SD series, GP series, early GPX control boxes?

Sorry missed this one, but Ian is correct. They were removed for a few reasons, but mainly to allow greater movement of the control box. I.e. you can slide it further back to counterbalance a big coil. Also meant you could slide your control box off the shaft by just loosening the wingnuts, and...
