Revising this old thread rather than start a new one. Some of this is old info, but I've spoken to a few guys recently who are pulling out their GPZ's and going over the areas they've found gold with using their 6000s. So a refresher won't hurt.
One thing I've been asked many times over the...
Continuing on the maintenance theme, this one shows my recommended method for cleaning the audio sockets on the sP01 enhancer. It would also apply to pretty much any headphone socket on any detector, or other gear you may be using like a Minelab wireless module.
I have a few customers chasing Evo coils. In particular:
14x9" Evo
12" Evo
Must be good condition with no damage to cables.
Let me know what you have. Cheers
Thanks Ozzie and XLOOX for sharing your findings. Yes, have to pick your application to use the discrimination, and as always, it will never be fool proof.
Cracker find there, and just goes to prove what might be sitting in amongst those trashy spots that are literally everywhere in the...
I would say they are better than most common headphones in that regard, but I wouldn't call them noise cancelling, or muffs like the SteelPhase Pro Series. They have a medium clamping pressure to give a nice balance between noise blocking and comfort.
The only other Elites I have tried on the Algo so far is an 11" round and 17x11" and they both worked very well.
The 17x11" makes it a little front heavy being over a kg in weight.
But, both of these have been discontinued - so still available while stocks last, but won't be an option moving...
14x9 Evo is excellent - but soon to be impossible to obtain. I have one left in stock.
Available new:
9" Coiltek Elite - works great, very sensitive. Just loves the E1500.
8" Detech Mono - good little solid coil. Calibrates in Ultra Fine, and another smooth coil option being bundle wound...
SDC2300 and you will get a fair chunk of change out of $6000. Robust, extremely easy to use, swing it very slow and it will sniff some gold out. Handles highly mineralised soils very well. Internal coil cable so it's protected from sharp rocks, a falling pick etc.
GPX6000 is bit more at $8999...
I sell the one I have been using. 16 Ah and has been very reliable so far.

Also fits the new DD cover set perfectly.
There is a very good reason why it is like it is. If you wanted to change the tonal response of the signal, to be independent to the threshold tone, then this would have to be artificial, and won't be a real time audio response. Part of why a lot of pulse induction machines sound similar is the...
I have tried an older 10" round nugget finder of that same series, and it wouldn't calibrate in Ultra Fine. So you'd just have to try it. Most likely would still work okay in Fine if it didn't fully calibrate in Ultra Fine.
Locate Patch is like a faster motion setting. Where you have ground that is giving you the moans, it can help to keep up and keep a steadier threshold. I often like to use it in combination with Normal ground type.
All covered here...
If you don't get out much, you should consider the Nokta Double Score. It's pretty much Legend DNA, shaft and 12x9" coil, and the control box is shared with the new improved Simplex. $789 gives you a lot of bang for the buck.
Just a few words about the Detection Modes.
Yes, Ultra Fine is the best choice if you are chasing very small gold, particularly specimens and other difficult types of gold (leaf, sponge gold etc), but you should also team that up with a very small coil.
The Fine mode and even Normal is still...
