How Long Did It Take You To Find Your First Nugget?

About eight years. From 2005 I ran a Garret Infinium (digging more junk than I care to recall), then onto a GPX5000 in 2013 for several weeks in the same areas and bingo! A mighty lot of relief and very happy days that I'll never forget. :goldnugget:

What To Look For On The Goldfields (New To Prospecting)

Great to hear Kelpie18. There's a ton of very handy info here on P.A. if you aren't afraid of a bit of reading. It's helped us all immensely over the years. :Y: Loamer is definitely worth his weight in gold!

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Fantastic nugs and speccies all! Nice to still see a bit of action here, though the heat has been pretty miserable lately. :sunny: :N: That's a tidy little half-grammer Pete! I'd be happy to see that show up. :Y: Good luck to all who are out prospecting. Take a little extra care of...

    Old Miners Ring

That's a cracker find Bullwinkle! I'd be breathing a sigh of relief that the pick didn't get the best of it while digging it out. I'll bet it could tell a yarn or two. Throw a pic on this thread if you go ahead and get a gold replica made up in the future (good idea that). Cheers, Shauno.

    The Phoenix mine house

As a bonus, it has the worlds largest (and possibly noisiest) Mortar & Pestle positioned nicely in the kitchen!

Prospecting / Gold Related TV Shows.

I reckon you're on the money Wayne. Such a wasted opportunity sadly. When we started watching the Weekend Prospector I almost thought I was watching something along the lines of Russel Coight's All Aussie Adventures rather than a prospecting show. I'm not sure I'll bother to catch that...

    Camp Chair information and questions

We've collected a few Coleman and OzTrail camping chairs over the years, still have them stored in the shed as they take up a fair bit of room in the ute when we travel -even in their protective cover. These days we just grab the el cheap'os from Bunnings on the way past. At around the $8-10...

    Why are you called that?

Just flicking back through and there's definitely more than a few creative names. I'm sure I've explained mine, though that would be hidden and buried WAY down deep under five years of newer threads. :) Easy to throw in a refresher... The name Syndyne [Pronounced; sindn] came about via...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Definitely some nice nugs and speccies coming to light lately! Well done to all! :perfect: Nice to see this thread about to break the 300 page mark also. A nice little milestone. Keep up the great work out there. Cheers, Shauno.

    Interesting Reading

Good call! Ive listened to Rogans Podcasts for a few years now. Im backlogged -about three months behind- and trying to get in two a day now just to catch up  I enjoy the fact that he offers a bit of something for everyone. He can be somewhat of an aquired taste at first, but you learn to...

    Kalgoorlie Super Pit

What is amazing (when having a closer zoomed inspection at the photo) is that some of those boulders are as large, or larger than the big front loading excavator at the base of the pit. That's insane! :o

    Kalgoorlie Super Pit

Ill bet that came down with a mighty rumble and impressive dust cloud! So good to hear there were no casualties. No second chances under that lot, even inside a machine. I had that exact thought AF! I wonder how many lifetimes (and pans) it would take to get through it all? I'll grab my...

"Outback Opal Hunters" Tuesday nights on 7Mate

I was almost hesitant to watch the series at first as we had a pre-screening up here at the Ridge last year and sort of knew what to expect. A tad frustrating at times in the same vein as the various gold prospectors' series. As far as the stated $30,000+ per carat for black opal at the start...
