    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

Hello Peter. I got the machine back yesterday, used it today and all is well again. On the service report, Minelab just wrote the defect was ‘intermittent noisy connection’ and they replaced the control box. I hope I haven’t turned you off too much by it. I’m a newbie and found gold with it the...

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

Hello Peter, I'll let you know what they say once I get it/one back and the process is done.

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

Hello Chet. Yeah, I was hoping that I would just be able to get a replacement when I went in, especially considering I only bought it 2 and a half weeks ago. If I had it for a year or two, then I would totally understand that it gets sent off and I play the waiting game. Hopefully I'll get a...

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

Hello Mortimer. I have 3 coils and it does the same with all three. I guess it's possible, but I'm strongly leaning towards a faulty machine as it goes crazy with all 3 coils after 15-20 of use.

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

Hello Kev. Yes, it goes off when it gets close to my feet. I've been wearing the same boots since day one though and was wearing thongs in the last video as my boots got wet. I'm very confident the noise in the videos is unrelated.

    Cool, that's good to know.

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

Thanks Dickie, but I already handed it in to my dealer today. It's being sent to Adelaide for testing. My dealer passed on this thread to the Minelab guy who test them, so hopefully I'll get a replacement. It doesn't play up until it's been used for a while, but I think the videos I made are...

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

I have already sent off an email to the dealer with a link to this thread. Thank you for the help.

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

That would be much appreciated if it's the case, Houdini, because I was planning on travelling to Queensland soon.

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

It's a worry indeed because I thought I treated it well. I never knocked it around or left it outside overnight or anything like that. I travel around Australia a lot, and it will be annoying if it breaks down again after this one is fixed/replaced. Luckily I'm not far from the place of purchase...

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

Well, today I put the 11 inch coil on and gave it a shot (have tried all 3 coils now). When I first turned it on, it played up slightly but nothing like in the videos. Then it seemed to be working fine for about 15-20 minutes and then this happened: I turned it off, but it behaved the same...

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

Okay, thanks. I'll contact them tomorrow if connecting the coil firmly doesn't work.

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

That's good to hear. So just confirm -- I should skip emailing minelab directly and just contact the place of purchase?

I hope I don't have too many headaches dealing with the warranty process. Fingers crossed.

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

Hello Peter. I always have my phone off when using it.

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

Thank you mbasko. I know what you're saying about the 'wiggle, push, wiggle, push'. I'm quite sure I have done it up firmly each time, but I will give that a go in the morning just to be sure. Something has definitely changed with this machine the last couple of days. It sounds like the weather...

    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

Hello everyone, I purchased a GPX6000 a couple of weeks ago and have been having lots of fun. However, since yesterday I have been having lots of trouble with noise as you can see in the following video: I am out in the middle of the bush in Linton, Victoria, and there are no power lines...
