30/30 is the go westoz.....has a loud enough bark on it and will drop anything within 100metres. Don't forget that camels are a top quality meat....one of my fav's actually.

NF 15 Evo Noisy On GPX4500.

If your detector is sounding off when your coil touches something ie rocks etc....check your connections....clean out your skid plate and if it's still falsing get in contact with th dealer you purchased it from as it would most likely be a dicky coil.

    Research

I was thinking about that very point OldGT....going by my chats with Victorian prospectors, there seems to be no 'new' ground for you explore ( happy to be corrected)....so if it's a case of just re-working old ground then what part does research play??? Hmmm....the answer is simple...

    Research

G'day SHaneC....I can only talk about WA....I never have and never will prospect in the East. Having said that, research is a funny thing. I reckon there are a number of things that need to drop into place...dumb arse luck.....research....the right method of working the ground and dumb arse...

Detector Depth Testing - Larger Gold

Cheers Deepseeker....I'm still not sure what he wants to actually achieve. My experience with testbeds goes something like this........it is irrelevant what type of target you use. It doesn't matter if you bury them...run them down an inclined pipe or bury them into a bank of a creek. A testbed...

Detector Depth Testing - Larger Gold

Hi Phasetech, I have a lot of experience with testbeds. What exactly is it you are wanting to achieve out of them? What is the point behind your videos? cheers Tony

Using a dry blower in Victoria.

Apologies Buck11.....ok...here's another thought....borrow one for sure...but make your own..not difficult and a fraction of the price...just a thought.

Is there in microns a point beyond which gold is no longer recoverable

it's a bit hard to understand what exactly you are asking....but I think I did it in my last post...a falcon concentrator (for a small scale operator) will catch gold down to around 50 microns. Your looking at around 30k for the privilege!

40E Permit's for WA - information and questions

I am always happy to help anyone if I can Gemini...even you....

Is there in microns a point beyond which gold is no longer recoverable

I can only speak for what we do.....lets forget chemicals as most prospectors only work on gravity. A "good" concentrator will recover gold down to around 50 microns which is 250 Mesh or 0.058mm ....more or less.

Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

All that is happening anyway mate......the death of prospecting as a hobby will be it's popularity.

Is there in microns a point beyond which gold is no longer recoverable

too many variables I would think. We capture gold in gravity circuits (GRG=Gravity recoverable Gold) that would go around 2-300 mesh....so you need a loupe to see it. The solution is simple for the small stuff.....CIP/CIL plants....use cyanide.

Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

Spot on Jaros. Thing is.....if you can afford 8k then you can afford 9.5 for a 7..... wouldnt you just go for the best get the 7???

40E Permit's for WA - information and questions

I don't need an apology mate...and to be honest...if I read you right....nothing I say is going to change your attitude. Thats fine as well. I know we have gone well off topic...but so be it...You make a lot of assumptions Gemini and in fairness I have made quite a few about you...I wont tell...

    Centrifuge

I know a bit about them...what do you want to know? Clay is the biggest problem when recovering gold...doesn't matter if your a single operator or BHP...clay is a prick. Centrifuge recovery can be anything from 3tph up to 100 cubic meters an hour per unit.

40E Permit's for WA - information and questions

So, I was responding to a direct question from Shakergt...just to be clear. It's well above 42 degrees at the moment....ducking for cover in the office and so I have some extra time to write a post up on this forum. What I was trying to do, was give what I thought was interesting background to...
