Continually getting these mixed signals lately, was really getting frustrated at one point only to realize the Nox was picking up my steel cap boots..Slipped them off and felt real silly. Not sure what to do now....I love them friggen boots...

No magic, just the cheapest, easiest and quickest way to solve the issue without voiding insurances and adding a potential safety risk.

Its very well been answered by now. Do it correctly. 15A power outlet in the shed/house, installed by a licensed electrician... or an approved adapter such as the amphibian. Don't trim down earth pins, don't molest power cords. Do it properly. They don't call electricity the invisible killer...

Always happy to be proven wrong @Diginit, That's how we learn! Regarding the controller, that was, as mentioned in my experiences. Never have i had or seen an issue with the cheaper MPPT controllers. I also havent travelled for more then a few weeks at a time which may play a part in it, again...
