Help needed on fossicking for sapphires in Inverell

Thanks Heatho, So the pump and emptying out the small rock pools beside the creek is probably not a good idea if no pumps are allowed. Its a shame as i bet theres a lot of nice stones down deeper in those little pools. Ill give Bill a call to discuss what is allowed and go from there. Thanks...

    Using a Highbanker/Sluice for processing sapphires/zircons

Thanks Barry, 1200mm sounds like a good starting point for size. As mine will be primarily for gemstones only are there any other things I need to take into consideration? There will be 2 of us working the highbanker/sluice to hopefully enable us to process more wash. Is there a particular...

    Using a Highbanker/Sluice for processing sapphires/zircons

Thanks Barry, Which do you think would work better for my application. Your top box or wal's cable tray top? Is 1200mm to short for the bottom sluice box? Hopefully a lot of the lighter stuff gets flushed out the bottom of the sluice so I don't have that much to sift through Cheers mike

    Using a Highbanker/Sluice for processing sapphires/zircons

Thanks Barry, What size in mm do you think a 4 carat stone would be? would this be around the maximum I can expect in a sluice? Wals highbanker looks different from your setup. cheers Mike

    Using a Highbanker/Sluice for processing sapphires/zircons

Thanks Barry, Will definitely take some experimentation to get it right. Is there a particular size Sluice I should be using for gemstones? Also what would be the biggest size stone you would run in the sluice? Cheers Mike

    Using a Highbanker/Sluice for processing sapphires/zircons

Good morning All, Can anyone advise if its possible to use a highbanker/sluice for processing gemstones? I will be running my wash through a dry trommel to screen out all the fine sand. I would then like to run 25-50 of the 20 litre buckets of wash through a highbanker/sluice to catch all the...

Help needed on making simple Pulsator,Hibanker or Gadget for gemstones

Thanks AtomRat, Have you made one yourself yet or are you still looking? I would be interested in building something simple that I can run 10-50 of the 20 Litre plastic buckets of wash through each time. Do you think a HiBanker would work? I know they are primarily used for Gold but thought...
