    This is my first attempt at making a sluice. It is an old socket set base that I cut the lid off of. Obviously I expected everything to be dug up, but what I didnt expect was how small the creek was that you are legally allowed to fossick. Are they all like 40-50m long?     So I was thinking, get things that can fit into I standard backpack. Searching for shovels, pans, metal detectors..I found this from Kmart for $8.50 in the camping section. Anyone have one...good or bad??

    Just bought a months license to see how I go. Anyone give me a location but street name or co-ordinates? I found a map online that has lots of pick axes on it...not sure if these are places to go as some look like they are private property. Maybe someone on here can confirm?
