5.31 oz after clean up. Was 7.5oz out of the ground, 36 grams of gold was recovered from the acid, so a touch over 6 oz.

The ground is not saturated, it has been just an average wet season, and there are no puddles etc around. The grass is long, but not wet. The zed 17 x13 was quiet.

Mine was sounding off pushing through grass, and bumping the stick or rock. The damp ground could have been giving me false targets, but not much in the way of hot rocks, more hot pockets of ground.

How is everyone's 10 x 5 going, 2nd time out today, false targets and bump sensitive, bit dissapointed.

Not sure about the "hystamine" comment. Try a freshly caught Saltwater barra and then compare to a dry season billabong barra.....the billabong barra has that same silty mud taste as the carp.

I like the 6ks small size. It fits in the front tray of my quad, and it's always handy to have the more sensitive machine around. Also the coil selection is pretty good to, and getting better. I am not a 6k basher, but for finding quality gold in hot ground, I still think the 7K is the benchmark.

I find the 7000 a much better over all machine. I use a backpack with a small plastic loop on the shoulder, and it has a thin waist band. I hook a bungy to the clip and adjust it so it takes the weight of the machine. I can swing the 17 x 13 , search all day, with a heap of water and other stuff...
