Minelab The weight of a GPZ 7000 - what can you do?

That's a great coil, but low and slow becomes even more important. We have a NF 12, lighter than the original 14!

Minelab The weight of a GPZ 7000 - what can you do?

Yep, coil and battery do make a difference. Be nice to shed some more though. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have health issues :( :gemstone:

Minelab The weight of a GPZ 7000 - what can you do?

Just wondering if any geniuses have worked out how to lighten the core unit of the GPZ. I'm not talking change a coil or a lighter battery, but real world experimentation and inventiveness. I've seen an SDC put inside some PVC pipe, and a few other adaptations of detectors - but has anyone had...

We have been getting eaten alive lately. Heaps of the buggers. Even swarming so loud I have had to turn my zed up!

    Minelab GPX6000 Versus GPZ7000

Seems to be the running joke at the moment...."the 7000 is upgradeable" - wonder if Minelab remembers that??? I have FINALLY got the 7000 working like you would think a $10K machine should, by spending another grand and a half!!! on an X-Coil, they are like night and day compared to the original...

    Minelab GPX6000 Versus GPZ7000

Now that its out there and we are seeing feedback, it seems to be what everyone wanted the 2300 to be but wasn't. It's not quite a GPX and not a GPZ. The SDC still fares well against it, but would have to say, being lighter, simpler - means the time of coil to the ground is probably more...

Minelab Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

....and for any experienced prospector, that is probably the best way to compete against the 6000. Add a few aftermarket products and modification ideas and you'll have you're own 6000 at one tenth the price. Great idea and advice dirtdiggin!

    Victoria information and questions

Had a weird day out prospecting today. Was at or favorite part of a forest we often go to - not typically know for big finds or a lot of gold, but popular none the less. We were here 6 days ago and have been coming to this place every second trip for more than a year. Often (not very often...

Minelab Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

I've done foam and tape, vinyl and cloth tape, what ever was around, all worked well :) I'm sure there will be something come out either with the detectors release or shortly after.

    Golden Point - Maryborough

Unfortunately, there are unsavory characters around and if you are any good at judging character - you'd know the well intention persons to the out right shady characters. Being further out in the country doesn't protect you, but lessens the likelihood of running into them. I "suspect" these...

Sounds very similar??? They had no base camp in site, not completely unusual. Their actions of slowing and circling our area even after seeing us would suggest they were not out for some bush bash fun. Riding closer and closer to us in an area more conducive to prospecting than dirt biking had...
