    Not exactly sure , but mica was sold by the square inch . You had to cut it so that it was 1 x 3 inch etc. The miners would take it in to the depot by the bag .

    Mica was mined in that area before the last war . After the war , mica from India and plastics coming into use , saw all the mines close .

    Better prizes cost money . Perhaps we could have a donate area ? Money donated for 3 months could buy better prizes or given as cash or lotto tickets , to the winners ? Better prizes will give more incentive to enter . JMO ..

    Beautiful drinking water , from the bore near the Police Station ! When I was there , many dead finches in the tank water . I set the windmill going and got clean water . Stopped the wind mill and left it as I found it .

    You can recover gold by flotation . I have seen it done in the lab . I think it works with alluvial gold but not others . I can ask my old boss , he is a metallurgist , if any body is interested .

    I would like to know the purity of gold around Windeyer . Had a look on the internet but cannot find it . I had a fire assay done for Turon River gold , will have to go and find the result . Found it , 87 % gold . Does not say what the rest was , most likely copper .

    I have used plastic change bags in the past . Coins from the beach are worn and under weight . So... they will not accept them unless you make up the weight . The old coin counting machines worked on the weight only . I think the new machines are scanning the coins looking for...

    I take my coins to the NAB . The new coin counter there will accept a lot of coins the older machines would not . It is like an ATM . It will accept them even if they are dirty looking . Yes, I have managed to jam the machine up ....
