Panning techniques and a few other questions?

......here's a youtube link that is nearly identical to the method that I use and is similar to what 20xwater describes. What I do different is that I don't swirl, I double-tap and back wash. https://youtu.be/j8NuXBCidTg

    Can anyone Id this button?

RE: the awesome gilt button.. The font is GOTHIC "Old English" style. The last letter is unmistakingly an "R" however it's difficult to be sure about the first letter because of its degraded condition. It seems to lead with what looks like a crescent shape and there are 7 Old English" style...

I Finally Got My Watch Figured Out

They're good aren't they... I've had my early model CITIZEN Eco-Drive PROMASTER wrist watch for 12 years now. They are in my experience an utterly reliable timepiece. Got mine for NZ$246 duty free in Auckland vs A$430 retail at home in Melbourne, Aust. A bloody bargain I reckon..... CITIZEN...

How many buckets can I bring home? - Victoria

I use 15 litre buckets (never fill them to the brim), and take it from me, you don't want to be lugging buckets of wet or dry gravel up hill, and out of a deep gully on any day over 25C, and then repeating the journey another couple of times to retrieve your sluice, pans, backpack and...

    The 44 gallon drum debate.

...... I'm at work atm and there is a CHEP pallet loaded with 4 drums beside my work station, and the measured height of each in turn is 88.5cm /89.5cm /87cm / 84cm. They are all 60cm in diameter.

    The 44 gallon drum debate.

I'd second that if we're talking imperial gallons then it'd be 36 inches. However in today's world the regular currency for fluids is litres and in my daily experience there's no standard drum size, They can be either 210L or 200L, I've seen 205L and 202L. Around 900mm/35.4" is an "average"...

    Iconic Aussie Business Names

Remembering back to 1981 when news of the huge export beef meat substitution racket broke, where ground roo meat was being mixed in with ground beef destined for the USA and it was very damaging at the time. One day I was traveling home on the train, and as it was pulling away from a station...

    interesting topographic feature

I think we have the answer read on.... "At Mt William (Mafeking) the gold derived from granitic rocks intrusive into the Grampians sandstones and had been concentrated in gravels of Tertiary age over an area of about a square mile, which have yielded over 100,000 worth of gold. The gold was very...
